Khazanah Nasional Berhad has recently received the following statement from Reuters in relation to a news story, which is the subject of a legal action brought by Khazanah against Reuters.
Reuters expresses to Khazanah Nasional Berhad its sincere regret for any distress, inconvenience or embarrassment that it may have suffered arising from a story which was injected on Reuters subscription-based news wire service in Singapore on 8 April 2004 under the headline “Proton CEO thwarts ouster effort – industry sources.” Reuters aims for fair and accurate reporting, and it was not at any time Reuters’ intention to cause any upset or misunderstanding.
Consequently, both parties have agreed to close this matter amicably.
